My Clothes and Accessories Haul

Okay so here’s the second part of my haul post. This one is what clothes and accessories I picked up in George at ASDA, New Look and River Island.

George black and white stripe top

I got this vest from George at ASDA but I can’t find the link. It was about £6.00 I think. I love the pattern on it and it’ll be great with a pair of denim shorts and its long enough to go with leggings too.

george heart tshirt

This heart t-shirt is also from George and was £6.00.  This is a great casual t-shirt to just chuck on and go. I’ll probably be wearing it with denim shorts.

New look black and white print top

Monochrome Aztec Crochet Back Vest £12.99: As you may be able to tell Im a big fan of black and white. Its so easy to wear. I love the print on this top and the crochet detail on the back.

New look denim look dress

Blue Acid Wash Sleeveless Skater Dress £12.99: I’ve been looking for a dress to wear during the day for ages but have struggled as a lot of them have a high neckline that doesn’t really work with big boobs. This dress is prefect. The skater style is really flattering and the neckline isn’t too high. It can also be worn in winter with tights. I’m so glad I found this dress. It was the only one I saw in the shop and it was in my size so fate was saying it had to be mine. The material is stretchy and really soft so it’ll be great for just chucking on and being comfy. Also be great for those days when my fibromyalgia means my skin hates the contact of clothes.

New look denim top

Blue Sleeveless Denim Shirt down from £14.99 to £7.00 in the Sale: I’ve been looking at these for ages and this will be great to just chuck on as an extra layer over a vest and left undone. At £7 I couldn’t really not get it.

New look grey blazer

Charcoal Lightweight Jersey Blazer £19.99: I am obsessed with blazers. I have two others one in a pale peach colour and another one in a brighter orangey/peachy colour so I’ve been looking for a more neutral colour that I can wear with everything. As soon as I saw this one I hoped they had it in my size as I needed to own it.

New look navy shoes

Navy Lace Up Plimsolls £11.99 I tend to have to wear slightly sensible shoes due to my weak and stroppy ankles. These are great as they are lace up and they are roomy enough that I can fit my ankle supports in them (sexy). I’ll probably be wearing these most days.

New Look Earrings and Bracelet

New look Gold and black double pyramid cuff bracelet £1.00 in Sale: Couldn’t really not get this for a quid. I’m not normally a gold jewellery kinda girl but I’m slowly changing my mind especially as it goes with my tan.

New Look Turquoise Dream catcher hoop earrings £3.00 in Sale: I’m a sucker for dangly earrings and I love dream catchers and turquoise so when I saw these in the sale I had to have them.

River Island Green Purse

River Island Green Laser Cut Clip Top Purse £17.00: I’ve needed a new purse for about 6 months now and I love River Islands handbags and purses. I’ve been popping in for ages now but they’ve never had a purse that’s caught my (plenty of handbags though unfortunately). I decided to have a look and this one jumped out at me as soon as I walked in so it is now happily living in my handbag.

What do you think of my purchases? What are you buying?

My Beauty Haul

As mentioned in my beauty wishlist I went shopping and was only supposed to be going into boots but that didn’t happen. I ended up getting some clothes and other things. I’ll do a separate clothes haul post otherwise this one will be too long.

I was gutted when I went into boots and they had run out of the Max Factor loose powder, they didn’t have any babylips in stock and they didn’t have the colour I wanted in the Maybelline eye studio Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel eyeshadow. I made up for it though. So here’s what I got in boots.

barry m matte white and revlon butterlips in wild watermelon

Beauty Wishlist

So I can’t sleep which is made even more torturous by the fact that I have to be up by 7am at the latest tomorrow and then drive the 2hrs down to Bristol. Id love to know why my body hates sleep so much.

Anyways as I can’t sleep and if I survive the early morning I will be going shopping I decided to post my beauty wishlist which will probably basically just be my shopping list as I plan on treating myself. Well depending on what my bank balance says as I haven’t checked it yet.

All pictures are either from superdrug or boots website

Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish in Turquoise: I’ve seen so many people wearing this polish on their blogs and it looks amazing. I’m dying to wear it.

Maybelline Baby Lips: I’ve read a few reviews on these and some people love them & some people hate them. If I’m being honest I mainly want one for the packaging. Plus Maybelline is 3 for 2 in boots at the moment so it would be free if I got 2 other things which I might as well. I mean c’mon who turns down a 3 for 2 offer.

Max Factor Loose Powder: I don’t actually have a powder of any sort and even though the heat wave seems to have finished and my makeup may stop sliding & my face may not be shiny I still need one and this one is down to £5.99 instead of £7.99 in boots & I love my max factor foundation so really want to give it a go

Maybelline Eyestudio Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow: Wow thats a long name. I’ve only recently got into eyeshadow and its still not something I wear a lot but I do really like maybellines products and this caught my eye and I really want to give it a try.

Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter: I really really want to try one of these. I’ve seen mixed reviews on them but I really need to own one. They look pretty good

Barry M Nail Polish in Matt White: I need a white polish for some of the nail art I want to try out plus I love Barry M and at only £2.99 you can’t really go wrong.

So here’s what I’m hoping to pick up tomorrow, well actually I guess later today as its now 1.30am (eugh I need sleep). Keep your eyes peeled for a haul post and see if I got tempted by any extras.

What beauty products are on your wishlist?

Top 10 Summer Nail Colours

I love having my nails painted so much that I now hate my naked nails so I thought I’d do a post on my Top 10 colours for the summer most of them being Barry M as the majority of my nail polish collection is Barry M.

10. Barry M Spring Green

Barry M Spring Green

I haven’t got round to wearing this colour yet but my friend wears it loads and it looks great. Its a really bright green and looks like summer to me.

09. Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream

Barry M Blueberry ice cream

Another one I haven’t got round to wearing yet but I love the colour and name. Its more of a pastel blue but it looks yummy on.

08. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Prickly Pear

Barry M Prickly Pear

I wore this one with a pastel pink and did a Nails for the week post on it here. I’m not normally a pastel colours girl but I am being converted with these gorgeous colours. I also love the Gelly collection. This lilac colour looks great and flowery.

07. Barry M Coral

Barry M coral

I’m wearing this one at the moment. It’s a slightly orangey coral and looks great with a tan.

06. Models Own Juicy Jules

Models Own Juicy Jules

Who doesn’t love a bit of glitter? I add this to a lot of my manicures normally doing an accent nail with it. Its so glittery and has amazing staying power. It will probably be added to my nails by the end if the week.

05. Models Own HedKandi Beach Party

Models Own Beach Party

I tried this briefly but didn’t get any pictures sadly but I will definitely be wearing it again. Its a really bright orange which looks great with a tan and is just a lovely fun bright colour.

04. Barry M Shocking Pink

barry M Shocking Pink

This used to be the only colour I ever wore. I love it so much. Its a really bright fuchsia kind of pink. Looks great all year round but is great in summer as its so bright. I wore it a while a go with a glittery purple accent nail and did a nails of the week post which you can find here with pictures

03. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Greenberry

Barry M Greenberry

I get so many compliments from this colour. Another from the Gelly range and I love it so much. It’s a gorgeous colour that looks so summery on.

02. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Grapefruit

Barry M Grapefruit

Yet another Gelly. This is a gorgeous pink and really makes your tan stand out. It looks great and just looks like summer. I have done a nails for the week post here where you can see pictures.

01. Models Own Pink Punch

Models Own Pink Punch

I have a lot of pinks in my top 10 and more that didn’t make it. Can you tell I’m a pink nails kinda girl? This is by far my favourite pink.   This pink is amazing, Its more of a reddy pink but it is so bright and looks amazing in the sun. I wore it on holiday and did a holiday nails post here. I also wore it with a glittery blue accent nail and did a post here. I couldn’t stop looking at my nails wearing this. Its just gorgeous and I highly recommend you try it if you love bright colours.

I’ve only recently tried Models Own polishes but the 3 I own are in the top 10 and I plan on buying more. I love the bottles and the brushes and they have a great range of colours now just got to chose which of the many colours I want because I don’t think my bank will let me get all of them.

What are your go to summer nail colours?

Bourjois Colour Boost

I’ve been meaning to do a review on these Bourjois color boost lip colours for ages but never had them in the same place to take pictures. I won these from a competition run by Superdrug on Twitter. They do a lot of competitions where you just have to retweet them so I would definitely suggest following them. I was so excited because I never win anything and I wanted to try these for ages but never actually bought them. Even better I was only expecting to win one colour but I got all 4 which at £7.99 I’m not sure I would have got them all.

Bourjois Color Boost

Bourjois color bosst lip

Bourjois color boost swatch

(L-R, Red Sunrise, Fuchsia Libre, Orange Punch, Peach on the Beach)

I love these glossy finish lip colours. The go on really well and feel so good on. They are really moisturising and smooth. They’re really pigmented which you usually loose in glossy lip colours.  They aren’t particularly long lasting but I’m not bothered by this because they look good and they feel so good to put on giving your lips a shot of moisture.

I wear Orange punch the most. Its such a gorgeous colour and looks great when you don’t want a statement lip but still want a pop of colour. The Red sunrise and fuchsia libre are a lot brighter and look great. They’re good if you want to try a bright lip but aren’t quite confident to try a lipstick. The only colour I’m not sure about is the peach on the beach. As mentioned in my Selfridges beauty box post, I’m not a pale pink kinda girl so I’m really not sure if I like this or not. A few people have said it looked good but I don’t think I’ll be wearing it much.

I do love these and will definitely be wearing them a lot this summer and as I’ve said I’ve worn the Orange Punch one every day that I haven’t been rocking one of my many bright lipsticks. They are great to throw on when you aren’t feeling great and don’t have the energy to put mak-eup on. They’re quick and easy and make you look like you’ve made an effort. They are also great if you suffer from chapped lips as they moisturise and don’t cling to the dry patches.

Anyone else tried them? Do you like them?

Selfridges Beauty Box

I saw this beauty box on someone’s blog but for the life of me I can’t remember whose. Even though I’m not going to a festival this year I knew I had to have it. At only £25 it gave me a chance to try things I wouldn’t normally buy plus it had quite a few things in it that I already wanted to try. So here’s what is in the box and my first impressions as I haven’t really got round to trying any of it yet.

Selfridges Beauty box                                     selfirdges beauty box 1

It comes in a white and yellow cardboard box and you get eleven products.

selfirdges beauty box 2

Sol de Janeiro Coconut water Cooling Mist, £17.00: I love cooling mists but the one that I have at the moment is in a tin can and doesn’t really smell of anything. I was excited to try this. It’s really refreshing and cooling, has a slight fresh scent to it and is moisturising. This is now my favourite product for summer and will definitely be going with me on hot days out.

selfirdges beauty box 3

Cowshed Cow Slip Natural Antibacterial & Soothing Hand Gel, £7.00: I’ve been looking for a antibacterial hand gel for my handbag for ages but my fibro sensitivities mean I can’t cope with the alcohol ones with the really string scent. I really like this one. At first I was sure of the scent but I really like it now. It has sweet orange and peppermint essential oil as well as grapefruit seed extract. It is so moisturising leaving my hands feeling so soft and smelling fresh and clean. It is a bit pricey though.

Hand & Face Mini Wet Wipes (Tutti Frutti): I couldn’t find a link or a price for these but you can pick them up in most high street shops. These smell great and are the perfect size for your handbag.

selfirdges beauty box 4

Violent Lips Warm Rainbow temporary lip appliqués, £6.54: These are something that I’ve been intrigued by. I kind of want to try them what with my obsession with lipstick. Maybe I’ll give them a try on a night out in freshers week in September. I’ll let you know.

Azature Diamond Nail Polish in Champagne, £17.00: I would never spend £17.00 on Nail polish and I wouldn’t normally go for the champagne colour as Im more of a vibrant colour kinda girl. However I really like this colour. It goes on amazingly and looks great on. It is so sparkly I couldn’t stop looking at it. The swatch below is one I did super quick and was too impatient to wait for it to dry between coats hence the not very good coverage. Once I’ve done it properly I will post some more pictures with a full review so keep your eyes peeled.

selfridges beauty box swatches 2

selfirdges beauty box 5

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Surge, £17.50 but there’s a sale on so now £7.50: This comes in a really nice looking case and is really pigmented and a gorgeous colour (swatch at the end of this post). It can be used as a cheek highlight, brow highlight, eye shadow and eye liner so for £7.50 that’s not bad. I will probably use it has eye shadow and eye liner most but will try all of the uses. It has a really creamy feel to it and glides onto the skin with ease. I will do a full review at a later date.

Colorsmash Hair Shadow in Je ne sais quo, £10.00: I’ve seen these and wanted to try them but as I have red hair at the moment its too dark to give this colour a go. I am going back blonde soon so as soon as that happens I will give this a try & do a full review. Its a bright colour and means you can try having different colours in your hair without the commitment to dye. Its also free of chemicals so any of my fellow chronic illness warriors who can’t use hair dye due to the chemicals you can get your fun colours this way.

eyeko eyeliner

Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in navy, £10.00: I got the black version of this free with Marie Claire magazine the other day and I am in love. I will be doing a review on it later. Due to hand pain, cramping and shaky hands its fair to say I am pretty rubbish at liquid eyeliner. I’ve longed to wear winged eyeliner but have never managed to master it. I tried this pen and its amazing. Its easier to control than normal liquid eyeliner but looks just as good (better on me as I can get them to match and no wavy lines). I highly recommend this pen to anyone who struggles with liquid liner.

selfirdges beauty box 6

bareMinerals Pretty Amazing Lip Colour in Moxie, £15.00: This isn’t normally a product I would buy. I’m not a gloss kinda girl and the colour is a pale pink. It is highly pigmented. One of the reasons I don’t like glosses is the tendency for them to be sticky. This is a tiny bit sticky to start with but once it settles its not really sticky at all. I wasn’t really a fan of the colour until I blotted it down and then it looked okay as a natural lip. I like the packaging and the applicator makes application easy.  I may try it again but I’m not really sure it’s the product for me.

topshop lip crayon

Topshop Lip Crayon in Powder Room, £7.00: This is the first piece of make-up I have owned from the Topshop range. I know shock horror. This is a similar colour to the bareMinerals lip gloss above. The difference being that this is a matte colour. I prefer this one to the bareMinerals but only just. I’m just not a pale pink person, which is a shame because I love the feel of this crayon and how it goes on. Maybe I’ll have to try a different colour. I love the packaging though.

selfirdges beauty box 7

Glitter Chubby Stick in Hottest Pink, £5.95: Who doesn’t love a bit of glitter. Even though I’m not going to a festival this will be great for a night out with the girls. I love the packaging its so pretty. The only downside to this product is the fact that it smells a bit like playdoh, however its not sticky when you put it on and the stick will probably last a long time.

selfirdges beauty box swatches

(L-R you cant really see it but on my wrist is the glitter chubby stick, Illamasqua liquid metal, Colorsmash Hair shadow, topshop lip crayon, bareMinerals lipgloss, eyeko skinny eyeliner)

So what do you think of the box products?

Back to Backpacks

I have a weakness for bags. I spend way to much money on bags and I’m constantly swapping and changing. I have a satchel that I love from River Island which is the handbag I used the most but some days the having the weight of my bag on one shoulder is really painful.

I have seen backpacks in shops for a while now. I wasn’t sure about them as I thought I would feel like I was back in school but I saw this one in New Look and it caught my eye. The colour and the pattern is really eye catching and fun. I can only find a black & white one on the website but here’s mine

New Look Backpack

It is so much more practical for long days than a handbag. The weight is distributed to both shoulders. It is big enough to keep everything you need for the day (Read medication, fold up walking stick, purse, make-up, bottle of water).

Big bags are usually bad at being a black hole and swallowing your stuff making it so that you can’t find your purse when you get to the checkout. Plus side to this bag it has 2 pockets on the front which I usually put my phone and my lipstick in & anything else I need quick to hand.

There is also the usual zip pocket inside the bag at the back and the main compartment may be big but somehow it is easy to find what you need.

I am definitely a backpack convert. It did take some getting used to and I did feel like I was back at school to start with but now my backpack comes shopping with me every time.

I also took it with me on holiday and was great to get everything I needed to hand whilst travelling. Its also really great for if you use a wheelchair because instead of having to have the bag on your lap which gets really annoying, uncomfortable and leaves less leg available to tan, you can hang it over the back and it wont fall off.
