Chester Haul

Not last week but the week before me and a friend took a trip to Chester for a spot of shopping. I was so excited because we don’t have a Primark where I live so I had a chance to go there but obviously I was most excited for the Disney Shop like the big kid I am. So here’s what I got

Primark

Christmas Pj shorts £4.00

My friend was horrified that I didn’t own any christmas pyjamas and these are so soft and comfy I had to have them.

Image

Jumper £14

My friend was equally horrified if not more that I didn’t have a Christmas jumper. This was as close as I was going. Not really a fan of the ones with Santa on that you can only wear at Christmas. I think I can get away with this for all of winter. This is also really soft and soo cosy.

Image

Penguin gloves £2

I forgot my gloves and because of my poor circulation and raynauds my fingers were so painful even though it wasn’t that cold. Luckily I saw these cuties and for only £2 they had to be mine.

New Look

Bad Hair Day hat £6.99

I have wanted this hat ever since I tried it on and then stupidly didn’t buy it a month ago. Every time I went into my local store it had sold out and was even sold out when I checked online. I gave up hope and decided we just weren’t meant to be. I have never been so happy when I went into the Chester store and it was there. I grabbed it immediately and didn’t let go. I even swapped hats and wore it home and it’s been attached to my head most days since.

Image

Penguin travel mug £5.99

I am in love with these mugs. I already own two but they are so handy especially when my hands are playing up and this one is covered in penguins and it matches my new gloves so I kinda had to get it 🙂

Image

Lush

Bubblegum Lip Scrub £5.50

My lips are really dry at the moment and as I’m addicted to lip stick I need my lips to be in tip top condition. Heard loads of good things about this so thought I;d give it a go. So far I am in love.

Image

Boots

Lasting finish lipstick by kate in 110 £5.49

Obviously I got drawn into boots and it was 3 for 2 on everything so it would have been rude not to get anything. I have wanted to try this colour for ages so finally treated myself and I love it.

Image

seventeen phwoarr paint £5.49

My under eye bags are getting ridiculous so as this is a heavy duty under eye concealer I thought I’d give it a whirl. It seems to do the job.

ImageImage

Models Own Velvet Goth in Absinthe £5.00 (free)

I have wanted to try this range ever since I saw the first swatches but have hesitated but as it was free thought I’d give it a go. I will be putting up a full review so you can wait to here about my thoughts.

Disney Shop

Sulley Cushion £12

I actually got 2 of these as I got my brother one too. I love sulley and these were reduced so I had to. He is super soft and I have an obsession with soft fluffy things so it was fate that we ended up together.

Image

Sulley cup £3.75

This was also reduced and I needed to replace the glass I broke. I looked like I had a Sulley obsession when I took the 2 cushions and this to the checkout 🙂

Image

Christmas Pascal £4.99

There was an offer on that when you spent over £10 you could get pascal for £4.99 instead of £8.99. I thought it would be rude not to as tangled is one of my favourite films and I love Pascal although his face on this toy is kinda creepy.

Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows had to be had

I was so tempted to buy this hat but I felt a bit over the top. It was really cosy and so fluffy.

And the day was ended perfectly with waffles and smoothie in Patisserie Valerie

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner is definitely my favourite eyeliner at the moment. It has one of those 24 hour lasting claims that all make-up seems to have at the moment but I have to say this one is pretty dam close to accurate. I had to drive my brother over to the Alps in the summer and I was on the road about 38 hours and I have to say this eyeliner lasted for the majority which included a few power naps on the ferry and while my dad was driving.

I have also given this the full chronic illness test by not only napping in it but also bursting into tears and it didn’t budge.

It comes in a glass pot with a brush. It took me a few goes to get used to putting eyeliner on my water line with a brush because I’ve always been a pencil girl but I am now a gel eyeliner convert and I love it. I’ve had this eyeliner for ages and I wear it most days and I’ve barely made a dent in it so it lasts and is well worth the £7.99.

If anyone is looking for a long lasting eyeliner I would highly recommend this one.

Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 make-up remover

So this is one of those purchases I made because I needed make up remover and it was cheap and I liked the colour. I used it once and hated it and it got replaced. Recently I ran out of make-up remover again and this is all I had in so I decided to give it another chance and now I wish I hadn’t given up on it so quickly.

Garnier 2 in 1 makeup remover

It’s a 2 in 1 make-up remover than removes even waterproof make-up with no perfume, no alcohol and no rubbing which is suitable for sensitive skin. I wouldn’t say my skin is overly sensitive but it had started stinging a bit with my old face cleanser. It’s a mix of a make-up removing oil and a cleansing water and you have to shake it before use to mix them.

I think the reason I didn’t like it to start with was it feels a bit oily going on but now I’m used to it I love it. My skin feels so soft after removing my make-up and my skin has never looked better. My eyeliner is quite stubborn to take off normally but this takes it off with ease and I don’t have to rub at my eyes to get it all off. It also means I don’t have to take a separate face & eye make-up remover with me when I go away which is so much easier.

The only slight problem I have with this is the lid is quite stiff and can be difficult to open some days but I tend to just use the edge of a table anyway as it’s much easier.

I’m so glad I gave this product another chance and when it runs out I will definitely be repurchasing it.

E.l.f Haul

I’ve never bought anything from E.l.f before but I’ve had it recommended it to me quite a few times. I was doing some online window shopping one night when I couldn’t sleep when I saw they had a 50% off if you spent £20 offer so I thought I’d have a browse, I mean who can resist 50% off.

Spending £20 was easy and it felt so good to see my £20.75 order turn to £10.38. So here’s what I treated myself to.

Image

Brow comb and brush £1.50

I keep having to borrow my flatmates one so thought it was time to replace my broken one and £1.50 isn’t exactly going tp break the bank.

Image

Image

32 pc Eyeshadow palette (colour brights) £6.00

I don’t actually own much eyeshadow. I’m not very confident at applying it but I’m hoping to change that so thought I’d get this to play around with

Image

Image

Image

Eyelid primer in sheer £1.50

I’ve heard loads of good things about this so thought I’d give it a go.

Image

Long wear lip liner in Bitter £1.50

I got this as my new Rimmel lipstick which I blogged about here has a tendency to bleed so thought this might help. It seems to be a pretty good colour match and I will be trying out tonight for fireworks so I will let you know.

Image

Image

Studio Matte Lip colour in Rich Red £3.75

Studio Lip Lock Pencil £3.75

I’ve wanted a matte lip colour for a while as all of my many lipsticks are a slight glossy finish. I’ve worn this once and I’m in love. I decided to get the lip lock pencil to see if I can get my favourite colour lipstick that never seems to want to stick around to last longer. I haven’t tried this yet but I will get back to you.

Image

Image

Tinted moisturiser in nude £3.75

I’ve wanted a tinted moisturiser for ages for days when I really can’t be bothered with make-up. I’ve tried this once and I really like it.

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer

I’ve been looking for a cheap but good primer for ages and I saw a post over on Beth’s blog about this one and thought I’d give it a go and I have to say I’m so glad I did.

Nivea primer

Nivea express hydration primer

The Nivea express hydration primer is £4.99 or currently £4.00 in superdrug. I got mine cheaper but it seems to have gone up. I would still pay a fiver for this though. You get a 50ml glass tub with a screw lid and it will last forever because a little bit goes a long way. I’ve been using mine for 2 months now and I haven’t even made a dent in it.

It is like a moisturiser and a primer in one which I love as it means I get to skip a step in my routine. It doesn’t look like other primers but it keeps my make-up in place all day and makes sure it doesn’t cling to any dry patches on my skin which is great as I have quite dry skin. It sinks into the skin so quickly that by the time I’ve faffed about finding my foundation my face is ready.

This is definitely my favourite primer at the moment and the price makes it even better.

My Halloween Look

I know this is a few days late but I thought you might like to see what my face looked like for Halloween. I can take no credit for this as all I did was apply the white base and wrestle with the contacts (turns out that’s a lot harder than it looks). My friend did all the hard work and painted this first try just from looking at a picture. We decided to put a spin on the popular cat look.

The whole look was created using red, white and black face paint from the local fancy dress shop along with cat eye contact lenses and a slick of maybelline mega plush volume express mascara finished off with my sparkly cat ears from Asda.
