Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner is definitely my favourite eyeliner at the moment. It has one of those 24 hour lasting claims that all make-up seems to have at the moment but I have to say this one is pretty dam close to accurate. I had to drive my brother over to the Alps in the summer and I was on the road about 38 hours and I have to say this eyeliner lasted for the majority which included a few power naps on the ferry and while my dad was driving.
I have also given this the full chronic illness test by not only napping in it but also bursting into tears and it didn’t budge.
It comes in a glass pot with a brush. It took me a few goes to get used to putting eyeliner on my water line with a brush because I’ve always been a pencil girl but I am now a gel eyeliner convert and I love it. I’ve had this eyeliner for ages and I wear it most days and I’ve barely made a dent in it so it lasts and is well worth the £7.99.
If anyone is looking for a long lasting eyeliner I would highly recommend this one.
What is your favourite eyeliner?
I picked up this Eyeko eyeliner as a free gift with Marie Claire magazine last month. I needed something to read on holiday and the eyeliner drew me to this magazine (and maybe a few others).
I suck at using liquid eyeliner and being able to line my top lashes was something I longed to do as well as the much loved winged eyeliner. This eyeliner has completely changed that and I now no longer look longingly at other girls eyeliner with envy (well I do but not as much). I can use this eyeliner with ease.
The box says its easy to control, smudge proof colour in a single stroke. I can agree with that and this is coming from a liquid liner phobic. I tried it whilst I was on holiday and once I got used to the pressure need to get the right thickness line there was no stopping me. It also lasted all day in 38 C weather whilst I was sunbathing and maybe sweating a little bit but shh.
The only problem I found with mine is the lid ended up on too tight and my poor occasionally useless hands struggled to get the lid off and the nib came out of mine. I don’t know if I had a dodgy one but I put it back in and I can still use it.
I also have a navy one which isn’t a mini but still skinny, which I got in my Selfridges Beauty box which I haven’t used yet but I do plan on making use of it. You can also get them in purple and brown.
It is £10 which is a lot for a liquid eyeliner and I’m not sure I would re purchase it at that price especially as I’m trying the Maybelline one which was featured in my haul post the other day and it seems to be just as good for £5.99. However I do still love this product and may be tempted to try some of their other products. I will forever be grateful to it for allowing me to do winged eyeliner as often as I want, I even wore it to my hospital appointment just because I can.
It’s easier to get at thinner line on your eyelid than it is on your hand although the navy swatch shows it better.
Anyone else tried it? What do you think of it? Whats your favourite liquid eyeliner pen?

This mascara is pretty much the love of my life. I have spent a fortune on mascaras, thinking I’ve found one that I like but changing my mind a few weeks later. I can happily say that I have tested this one for about 3 months now making sure I was definitely happy with it and I can say it is love. I have also talked 3 friends into buying it and they also say that this is the one for them.
The main problem I find with mascara is flaking. My eye balls seem to attract flakes of mascara. I always end up with flakes in my eyes after a few hours of wearing. Well I used to. Not any more. This mascara doesn’t flake. Also, you know when you are wearing mascara and your lashes feel really hard, well not with this one. My eyelashes feel like naked eyelashes but they look fuller & longer.
I am also very fussy about clumping mascara. I hate clumps in my lashes. No matter how much of a rush I’m in, how badly I put this mascara on I have not ended up with a clump yet. I have put this mascara on in the car, when I’m half asleep, when I have shaky hands, when I feel terrible & it looks good every time. It also doesn’t clump when you put on multiple layers.
I love the maybelline mascaras because their tubes are chunky enough that I can get a good enough grip to open them and the shape of the handle on the wand makes it easy for my dodgy hands to hold & apply without cramping, spasming etc.
I would definitely say it is worth the price & a tube does last but also maybelline are really good at doing awesome deals like 3 for 2 etc.
I love this mascara because it makes my lashes look amazing, long and full but it manages to do this without making it look like I have mascara on. The only conclusion I can come to is that this is magic in a tube.
